Generation Alphabet A-About Me

I am a stay at home mom with a few careers behind me. I was a hair stylist for 7 years, Montessori teacher for 5 years, and worked as a behavior therapist for children with autism for a few years.

I have a 10 year old with daughter ADHD and a 2 year old son with autism. Needless to say, I find myself pretty busy trying to manage the both of them. Most of the time I love every stinking minute of it; but every once in awhile the world comes crashing in and I want to hide under my velvety, burgundy blanket or come out screaming like a banshee from hell and kickin’ some jerks butt for whatever injustice I feel should be righted.

This blog is intended to document my journey as a parent navigating through treatments, therapies, diets, meds, IEP’s, ARD’s, etc. relating to both of the big A’s. I will also dedicate some of the writing to two auto immune disorders I’ve been diagnosed with.

While I was pregnant with my son I was told I had a rare auto immune disorder called pemphigoid gestationis and a year later was diagnosed with another auto immune disorder called amyopathic dermatomyositis. I will be writing about both of those disorders as well, as they are so rare.

I will start with the beginning of the alphabet working alphabetically to pick my topic, for instance this week is the letter “A” so I will have a few posts about something that starts with “A”. Next week will be letter “B” and so forth. On Sundays I will recap my week or write about whatever I fancy...
